S14: We Can Exercise Public Extensions

We can exercise Public Extensions to meet the future. We’re strongest when we have maximum flexibility to pull in new people, draw on new resources, and extend credit. Then we can handle whatever comes our way: war, recession, new technologies. From immigration to the use of public lands to the supply of money, we can flex American power and achieve healthy balance.

Americans can say, “Enough!” to the out-of-control, extreme Money Counts of elite, entitled Counts. Contributing Americans can renew the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, free from the corruption of extreme money, as we:

1

Pay down our national debt. For too long, Counts have over-extended America for self gain. Allowing our national debt to bloat just benefits the Counting Class. When we reclaim America’s Public Gains, we can pay down many trillions of dollars of debt. That way we keep the flexibility to respond and adapt to any future challenges.

2

Provide equal access to credit extensions. The path to the American Dream can require credit extensions. Buying a home, starting a business, getting career training. Public options for credit ensure equal access and balance the power of private credit. We don’t have to let Counts be the gatekeepers of credit for all Americans.

3

Keep public control of Public Extensions. Public Extensions are about being able to flex America’s power. Some Counts would replace our public US dollar with “crypto” money, leaving Americans without control of our own supply of currency. We don’t have to let this happen. We can keep Public Extensions in public hands.

On the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Big Woods Declaration (BWD) renews the call for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, free from the corruption of extreme money.

The BWD is a First Amendment petition to the American people and our government. It is not limited to any political party or group.

The BWD is a total of 60 pages: the Core Declaration (4 pages), the 13 Notes, the 27 Dangers to America, and the 16 Solutions for America.

The BWD was created without the use of any AI, opinion polling, or focus groups. The BWD draws on many core American ideas as well as the work of Thorstein Veblen, America’s visionary from the Big Woods of Minnesota.

All photos in the BWD were taken in the Big Woods. The BWD was framed by Erik Christopher Sahlin with Alyssa Beth Wulf.
